Walks and Hikes

  • This 15 kilometre walking trail offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Coffin Bay’s abundant flora and fauna plus magnificent water views.

    This well defined trail meanders along the foreshore, between the holiday shacks and homes and up to the lookout and through to Old Oystertown.

    You can either stroll any section of the Oyster Walk or take on a challenge by completing one or more of its sections.

  • Located in Coffin Bay National Park.

    Walks start at Yangie Bay camping area – bitumen road from Coffin Bay.

  • Located in Coffin Bay National Park; 4WD from Yangie Bay.

    Follows the coast around the headland overlooking sheltered Port Douglas. – 2 klms return – allow 40 minutes.

  • Located in Coffin Bay National Park; requires 4WD from Yangie Bay.

    To the rugged coastline of Avoid Bay with views overlooking Lake Damascus along the way – 12 klm return – allow 4 hours.

  • This is the closest beach walk to Coffin Bay. The access is located on your right just before you enter the National Park.

  • Located in Coffin Bay National Park.

    Not only is this a great surfing/fishing beach, but Almonta Beach also offers a fantastic walk accessible to the entire family. Don’t forget to explore around the southern corner of Point Avoid when you are here!

  • Located in Coffin Bay National Park.

    Walk down the boat ramp and explore this magnificent beach. Don’t let the name fool you, this is a can’t miss during your visit to Coffin Bay.

  • Located 15km outside of Coffin Bay, you’ll need to have 4WD to access this beach.

    Either drive through the sand dunes or leave your vehicle in the car park and walk across the dunes to this spectacular beach just outside of town.
